The Bloedel Reserve

Bainbridge Island, Washington

The Bloedel Reserve was a private residential estate, but is now a public-access 150-acre nature preserve and garden. It is located on beautiful Bainbridge Island just across Puget Sound from Seattle.

I was lucky to be there on a mercurial October day when mists—lit by frequent sun breaks—swirled off the Sound.
